Oklahoma
I found myself back in Oklahoma for another work trip and this time I decided to make the most of it. I got my kicks on Route 66 in Tulsa, where I went to see Buck Atom and other giant statues, before heading to Oklahoma City. My hotel room in OKC was conveniently located right next to the Thunder’s stadium—which, as a Pacers fan, did not sit particularly well with me. This was my third time being in Oklahoma, and the first two times came with their own special kind of chaos. The first time, I had to change hotel rooms after spotting some needles on the way up to my room. The second time, someone hit my rental car and then an ice storm stranded me at the Dallas airport on my way home from Tulsa. So naturally, I arrived in Oklahoma this time wondering what could possibly go wrong. Instead, I visited the Osteology Museum, wandered through a collection of incredible skeletons, and somehow left with a completely different opinion on Oklahoma. Maybe the third time really is the charm.
